Career counseling and coaching for motivated adults in Baltimore, throughout Maryland, and across the United States
This whole career thing can be so overwhelming.
“Why does it feel like everyone else has been able to figure this out so easily?”
“I just don’t know where to start. I feel lost.”
“I feel guilty wanting a job that makes me feel proud.”
“I feel like I’m going in circles.”
“How will I even know when a decision is the right one? How do I know I’ll be happy when I get there?”
“I feel stuck. I don’t have any idea what I want—I just know it’s not this.”
Everyone else makes it look so easy.
They seem to feel so comfortable in their careers, like they’ve always known what they wanted in the first place. You feel like you’re the only one who doubts themselves and who spends their day wondering, “What if…,” and then talking yourself out of it, thinking, “But I probably can’t….” You feel self-conscious about not knowing what you want, and you might even feel bad for wanting something more.
It’s okay to want something more. Let’s figure out what success means to you.
Let me help you find your footing.
EARLY CAREER
You’re just starting out and can’t figure out where to even begin. I want to help you feel confident entering the workforce for the first time and heading in a direction you feel good about. I will help you examine what motivates you and how you accomplish your best work, and how you can translate those to create a satisfying career path.
CAREER TRANSITIONS
You’re feeling frustrated with your career and it’s time for a change. In career counseling we’ll focus on identifying exactly what it is that is making you uncomfortable where you currently are, assessing and clarifying your personal and career-based values, figuring out what makes you feel successful, and plotting out the steps that will help you achieve that success and satisfaction.
RE-ENTERING THE WORKFORCE
You’re re-entering the workforce after time away. You may be experiencing doubt about your skills or your sharpness. I’ll help you capitalize on the skills you’ve gained during your time away, and we’ll focus on putting together a meaningful action plan to step into a career that feels right for you.
Career counseling can help you to…
Learn about your inner compass and gain a sense of direction.

Interview with confidence.
Feel good about the career decisions you make, whether you decide to change your path or take steps to improve your current situation.
You don’t have to remain dissatisfied.
Let’s talk about what you want the rest of your life to look like.
Frequently asked questions about career counseling
-
We’ll start with an initial intake appointment that takes the format of an extended interview. I’ll gather information about your history and background, and we’ll discuss your goals. This appointment lasts 90 minutes, and by the end of it we’ll have the beginnings of a plan for how we will proceed.
After that initial meeting, there will typically be several follow-up meetings (50 minutes each) as well as regular exercises to be completed between our meetings. We may incorporate assessment measures if we decide they would be helpful to you.

Yes. Career assessment (career testing) may be useful during this process, as it can provide helpful information related to making career decisions. When these assessments are used, they are carefully selected to be appropriate for each client, and results will be interpreted individually for each person. Results will be provided with a discussion in order to ensure that they will be useful to you.

No. My job is to help you get to a place where you feel good making these decisions yourself. It is essential that you feel confident navigating your own course, because it is possible that as time goes on and you continue to progress in your career, you might wish to make further adjustments.
With that in mind, it makes sense that having solid ways of understanding yourself and how work “works” for you will serve you well in the long-term. But that also means these are not decisions I can make for you.
